Jared Wasinger

Assistant to the City Manager, City of Manhattan, KS

Jared is the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Manhattan, Kansas, and has served in that role since 2017. Prior to his current role, he served as a Management Assistant for the City and received his Master of Public Administration degree from Kansas State University in 2016. The City of Manhattan is in the beginning stages of developing a smart city strategic plan to become a more data-driven organization and community.

The City Readiness Hub sessions are unscripted mentoring sessions that allow one city to receive targeted advice from smart city practitioners in another city that is further along the path to creating more livable, workable, and sustainable communities.
This session features Manhattan, KS and Racine, WI. Both cities have identified Digital City ServicesPublic Safety, and Transportation as their first priorities in developing a smart city. They will talk through some of the common challenges and success stories each has faced in on-boarding smart city projects in these areas.
