Lydia Van Note

Lydia has more than 17 years of experience building demand for public policies at the local, state, and federal levels. Throughout her career, Lydia has played an integral role in creating positive change for the environment, working families, and public health. Lydia has worked as a nonprofit and campaign consultant since moving to San Diego five years ago, leading local environmental ballot initiatives, organizing labor environmental efforts, and assisting candidates running for local office. Before moving to San Diego, Lydia was Nevada’s leading clean energy advocate for more than a decade. As the Executive Director of Clean Energy Project, Lydia coordinated multiple successful campaigns to shut down coal-fired power plants and incentivize clean energy development in the Silver State. Lydia also worked for US Senator Harry Reid as his Energy Representative supporting local government and Nevada businesses applications for Recovery Act funds. Lydia was the Regional Representative of the Sierra Club prior to her work with Senator Reid. Lydia graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Liberal Arts.
